I was born and raised in North Eastern Utah.  I spent most of my youth living in Roosevelt and enjoyed the great outdoors.

When I was 19 I joined the US Navy and spend most of the next 4 years aboard the USS Barbour County( LST 1195) - as an Electrician Mate.

Soon after my discharge I married Jennifer Ternes - Shields, North Dakota.

I enrolled in Utah State University, where I received a BS in Forestry Management.  I graduated in 1981 and entered the US Army as a Second Lieutenant.  I retired in 2001 and moved to North Dakota.  After a couple of freezing winters I moved to California then to Arizona and finally Texas.

My wife and I have moved about 19 times and have lived in many parts of the country.  I understand how hard it is to pick up and move.  I understand the frustrations, hopes and also the reality of making that move.
